Yesterday Taylor had a routine checkup with her ENT. One tube is out, the other is on its way out... and unfortunately, the ear with no tube is infected. Of course it is. Sigh. Back on the oral antibiotics, and if those don't work, we'll be looking at another round of tubes.
About two hours later, I get a call from daycare saying that one of Taylor's eyes is pink. They tell me they'll keep me updated. Sure enough, a few hours after that, they call back and say that she definitely has pinkeye and I need to come pick her up. Oh, and she has a mild fever. Off to the pedi, yes, she had pinkeye, and the fever is probably due to the ear infection.
THEN. After I put her to bed for the night, it starts. The deluge of vomit. Which goes on all through the night. This kid doesn't vomit. Well, didn't. We go through something like 3 sets of sheets and 6 pairs of pajamas (hers and mine) in a two hour period, and that's just the start. Oh my gah. It is awful. Did I mention the last thing she ate was strawberries and blueberries? (Gross, sorry.) The washing machine is running all night long. Around 5 am Taylor finally passes out on the floor of our bedroom, of all places, with me by her side.
Back to the pedi this morning for a round of shots (antibiotics for the ear infection, since she can't keep the oral medicine down) and an anti-nausea rx, and she is now passed out in her crib (please stay asleep please stay asleep).
I swear, when she gets sick, she gets SICK. Go big or go home.
So here we are, hopefully, hopefully on the mend. No vomit since early this morning. Sure hope things are turning around, as she's clearly miserable, and I feel awful for her. And I'm exhausted. And, we're supposed to leave for our mini-vacation on Friday. Fingers and toes crossed that this is short lived, and that Jake and I don't get it.
Off to crawl into bed now.
