36 weeks

4 weeks to go (and hopefully not a day more). I'm tired, uncomfortable and cranky. I've given up trying to look "nice" for work even; if I make it in semi-on time and fully clothed, I consider that a success. :P

So ready for this baby to come! 36 week appointment was pretty routine, no internals until 38 weeks. She did remind me to get that hospital bag packed, because it could be any day, so I guess I'll be doing that this weekend. We're getting close!

34 weeks

Not a whole lot to report from this morning's appointment. Baby girl is still head down, healthy heartbeat, lots of movement. I'm still puffy and swollen as can be and having trouble with painful wrists and numb hands. The heartburn, at least, has finally let up, and my blood pressure is right where it's supposed to be. Next appointment is in two weeks, then it'll be appointments every week.

The nursery is coming along; we still have a few things to get, but it's really coming together. We're half-way through all of our classes, which so far have been worth the time spent. Later next week we have our maternity pics (fingers crossed that it cools down at least a little!), and then, well, it'll be September! Can't believe how fast the days are flying!

Showers!

I was fortunate enough to have two showers thrown for me in the past few days, one by my coworkers and one by my friends. I've been so touched by everyone's generosity!

My work shower was first, thrown by the ladies who work in the same office area as me. They were so sweet to do this, and it was really lovely! Great spread of food, delicious cake, and very thoughtful gifts (one of the ladies made me a quilt, and the entire department pitched in for a gift card!). I really am lucky to work with such a great bunch of people!

My second shower was a few days later, hosted by Gina, Kat, Jill and Lauren (thanks so much girls!!). We had a great group of ladies there, and it was a lot of fun! Played a few games, drank a bunch of punch (my weakness), enjoyed some delicious eats and a very yummy trifle. And the gifts - I cannot believe all of the adorable outfits we received for baby girl! Not to mention the toys, blankets, and all sorts of necessities - I love having friends with babies who know exactly what we're going to need. Jake and I are both so grateful for such good friends!

And, of course, a big thank you to all of the family members who have been sending us all sorts of gifts! We really, really appreciate it! Can't thank you enough!!

32 weeks

Things are starting to get a little uncomfortable! I'm starting to wish time would move just a little more quickly!

**Belated 32 week appointment update: baby is head down, so hooray for that! Strong heartbeat and lots of movement, as usual. As for me - I have been having some crazy swelling in my feet and ankles, but because my blood pressure has been normal, the dr. is not too worried - I'm just supposed to keep an eye on the swelling and stay off my feet as much as possible. I also have carpal tunnel in both wrists and severe heartburn, so I am willing these next several weeks to fly by!
