26 weeks

We're getting closer and closer! Just over 3 months to go (under 100 days - and almost in the third trimester). I feel so large already, I can't imagine how I will look and feel towards the end of this pregnancy!

Like my outfit? Took this pic after I went to the gym - for the first time since getting pregnant. Shameful, huh? That's not to say I'm not exercising, though; I have a few dvds that I use at home (when I manage to get up the motivation).

Baby girl is still quite the mover and shaker, kicking up a storm on a daily (and nightly) basis. We can very clearly feel, and see, the kicks from the outside now.

Colombia

Well, I made it to Colombia and back. It was a quick, exhausting trip, and unfortunately, due to the unexpected change to Jake's job situation, I had to make it solo.

I left Austin on Thursday morning, flying to Atlanta and then to Bogotá. That second leg was only about 4 hours, so really not too bad. I arrived in Bogotá late on Thursday. The next morning we (my mom, brothers and I, the bride-to-be and her family) all piled into a caravan of cars to drive to Iza, a tiny little town in the state of Boyacá, where the wedding was to take place. I have to say, Colombia is a beautiful country. The drive took us 4-5 hours (with several stops on the way) and the landscape was just stunning.

Iza was downright tiny - not a whole lot there. A bit too, ahem, "rustic" for my tastes - I admit I like my comfy beds and hot showers. But, still, very pretty.

The wedding was on Saturday afternoon, with the reception following. Most of the ceremony was in Spanish, so we gringos didn't understand much of it, but it was beautiful! My "little" brother is all grown up!

Everyone was so very nice and welcoming, and we managed pretty well despite the language barrier (though the baby bump attracted a fair amount of attention, and I usually had no clue what people were saying to me, ha!). A few family members spoke fairly decent English, so that was definitely a help.

We headed back to Bogotá on Sunday, then it was an early flight home on Monday. Definitely a whirlwind trip! I think I'm still recovering, actually. Surprisingly, I had practically no nausea while there, maybe it was the elevation or the cool temps, I don't know. But my feet and ankles, oh, did they swell - I had cankles like none other.

It's good to be home, but I'm very glad I was able to see my brother get married! Congrats S & M!

Jake put in a lot of time and effort this past weekend, and it's starting to come together. Now for the fun part - decorating!
